Decorient completed the construction of an international standard laboratory building in the Reduced Risk Products (RRP) factory area of PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk. (Sampoerna), KIIC – West Karawang, West Java in June 2023.

This laboratory building is integrated with existing factory buildings thus the challenge in the project was in executing the construction safely without damaging existing properties. One of the efforts made to answer this challenge is implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the engineering process. With 3D model, integration with existing buildings and coordination for equipment placement could be done precisely. The 3D model was also used for visualization of work methods to explain sequence of work which helped a lot in hazard identification and risk assessment during work preparation.

The highest safety risk in this project is falling from a height. The use and design of scaffolding is a special attention for Decorient to reduce this risk which is supported by supervision from a certified scaffolding team.

The success of this project then continues with the trust from Sampoerna to award construction of the next phase of RRP Plant to Decorient which will last for another 12 months.
